Juneteenth
On June 17, the Rainier Beach Family Center hosted their annual Juneteenth celebration. Juneteenth commemorates the abolition of slavery in Texas in 1865. This is the tenth year that Atlantic Street Center has celebrated Juneteenth. This year, Seattlepi.com featured the event in their Big Blog! The photo at right is courtesy of Seattlepi.com. Fund for the Needy

Spend an hour with us, enjoy some light refreshments, and learn more about our life-changing early learning, youth development, family support and mental health counseling programs. You will not be asked to donate.

Atlantic Street Center Named Silver Anniversary Partner
In 1985, four women were inspired to create something new and special in Seattle: an organization devoted to helping children in need, and to growing social service philanthropy among their peers. From this inspired beginning, Northwest Children’s Fund has evolved into one of the Northwest’s premier grant-making organizations, igniting the philanthropic spirit and connecting ten million donor dollars to nearly 300 agencies who share its mission of ending child abuse and neglect.
As it celebrates its first quarter century of connecting our community with children in need, Northwest Children’s Fund has designated 25 past grant recipients as “Silver Anniversary Partners.” Atlantic Street Center is proud to be one of those agencies. We were selected for our long, consistent and significant partnership with Northwest Children’s Fund in the fight against child abuse and neglect. THANK YOU to the Northwest Children's Fund for this honor and for their commitment to children in our community.
